Basic Feed Formula™ (BFF)
This is not commodity “worm food.” It is a functional input for serious vermiculture—built to keep biology stable and outputs reliable.
Why BFF Exists
Premium castings begin with intentional feed. BFF was developed through practical vermiculture experience and soil biology study to support both bacterial and fungal development—without overheating, souring, or destabilizing the system.
When worms thrive, castings improve. When castings improve, soil biology improves.
Ingredient Philosophy
Basic Feed Formula™ contains a structured blend of whole-food inputs and mineral support. We focus on clean ingredients that drive steady microbial metabolism and stable bin performance.
- Whole grain meals
- Alfalfa meal
- Rice bran
- Mineral amendments
- Finely crushed calcium sources (buffering support)
- Optional biological enhancers (batch dependent)
No synthetic additives. No unnecessary fillers. No artificial attractants.
Feeding Schedule
For established worm bins:
- Apply 1–2 cups per square foot of bin surface area
- Feed every 5–7 days
- Maintain moisture like a wrung-out sponge
- Cover feed with bedding to discourage pests
For new bins, begin with smaller quantities and increase gradually as the system stabilizes.
Brewing Integration
BFF is designed to produce castings suitable for high-quality compost tea extraction and soil inoculation programs. When used consistently, it supports the WormTRAP workflow:
BFF → Premium Castings → Microbial Tea → Soil Regeneration

Safety Notes
- Store in a cool, dry place and reseal pouch tightly after each use.
- Keep product protected from moisture to preserve shelf stability.
- Use recommended rates and cover feed with bedding to minimize pest activity.
- Intended primarily for worm feeding systems; for soil application, use finished castings.
